Introduction to Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

OINP is one of the many ways to get the PR for Canada. For this program, Ontario government and Canada government, which is known as Federal works together through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Ontario government issues Nomination certificate to the people after evaluating the application that is also known as getting the Approval for applying PR application. After getting the nomination, Canada government decide to give the Permanent Residence or not to the applicant after evaluating. So this way they work together and provides Permanent Residence approval to the applicant.

The first thing which is mandatory for OINP is IELTS with good bands.

OINP Categories/Streams

To get the Nomination from Ontario, there are three different category:

1.           Employer job offer category:
If you have a Job offer letter from the employer (company) of Ontario

2.           Human capital category:
If you have required work experience, education, language skills and profile in Canada’s Express Entry System.

3.           Business category:
If you are looking for opening a new company or buying an existing company in Ontario.

Basic Application Process

This process is generic for all this stream. These are the basic steps for all the three streams to get the Permanent Residence from Canada:

1.           Check whether you are eligible for any of the three stream. Check each stream in details and then decide in what category you fall into. Do not overlook any detail, because all the eligibility criteria is mandatory to be matched.

2.           Apply for the Ontario Nomination. If you are eligible in any one of the stream then only apply for this nomination. You can submit this application online here.
Once you submit the application, you will be required to pay some fees. Please check on the Ontario website for the latest fees.
For payment, use only Visa, Visa debit, Mastercard and Mastercard Debit.
The processing time will depend on the volume of the application.

3.           Apply for PR. Once you get the approval also known as Nomination certification from Ontario government, you can apply for PR to IRCC and wait for the other instructions. IRCC will evaluate your application and take final decision to make you Permanent Residence or not.
